Founded in 1981 as the Brazos County Rape Crisis Center and open for services since 1983, it rebranded in 2008 and now serves Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington Counties. Survivors can reach advocates around the clock through its crisis hotline, get accompaniment to law enforcement and court, help with protective orders and victim compensation, and legal referrals. It also offers six weeks of individual advocate support sessions and trauma-focused counseling with licensed therapists, including EMDR.
