Women's and Children's Alliance (WCA)

The Women's and Children's Alliance (WCA) is a Boise nonprofit that provides safety, healing and freedom to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. Its roots go back to 1910 as the Boise YWCA, and it established its Rape Crisis Alliance and domestic violence crisis center in the 1980s before becoming the WCA in 1996, with over 45 years of crisis services. It runs separate 24-hour rape crisis and domestic abuse hotlines, rape crisis advocacy, counseling, therapy and support groups, court advocacy and safety planning, secure emergency and transitional shelters, case management and life skills classes. All services are voluntary, confidential and free, and are open to all survivors regardless of gender, age, background or orientation. It also offers community education presentations.
