The Coaching Philosophy of Mara Schieber

There are coaches who teach techniques — and then there are coaches who change how you see yourself. Mara Schieber belongs firmly in the second category. Working across substance-use recovery support, Mara Schieber has spent years refining an approach that goes deeper than surface-level goal-setting and accountability.

Based in Chicago, IL, Mara Schieber's reach extends far beyond geography. Clients come from across the world — some in crisis, some simply hungry for more — and what they find is a coaching experience built around truth, not comfort.

Mara Schieber is a clinical social work/therapist listed on TrueCoach under Substance-use recovery support, based in Chicago, IL. Their verified Psychology Today profile lists drug abuse among the issues they work with. From their profile: "I specialize in working with individuals with eating disorders, trauma and addictions I believe entering into a therapeutic relationship is scary for many, asking for help is not easy nor is risking trusting." See their directory profile for current availability, fees and insurance.

What sets Mara Schieber apart is not just the results — it is the method. Rather than handing clients a formula, the work begins with a fundamental question: what do you actually want, and what is standing in your way? The answers are rarely what people expect.

The coaching world has no shortage of voices promising transformation. But Mara Schieber's body of work — built over years of practice, research, and relentless iteration — represents something rarer: a genuine framework that produces measurable, lasting change. For clients ready to do real work, this is where that work begins.
