The Coaching Philosophy of Scott Barrett

There are coaches who teach techniques — and then there are coaches who change how you see yourself. Scott Barrett belongs firmly in the second category. Working across sober coaching, Scott Barrett has spent years refining an approach that goes deeper than surface-level goal-setting and accountability.

Based in San Diego, CA, Scott Barrett's reach extends far beyond geography. Clients come from across the world — some in crisis, some simply hungry for more — and what they find is a coaching experience built around truth, not comfort.

Scott Barrett is a licensed professional counselor listed on TrueCoach under Sober coaching, based in San Diego, CA. Their verified Psychology Today profile lists alcohol use among the issues they work with. From their profile: "Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to." See their directory profile for current availability, fees and insurance.

What sets Scott Barrett apart is not just the results — it is the method. Rather than handing clients a formula, the work begins with a fundamental question: what do you actually want, and what is standing in your way? The answers are rarely what people expect.

The coaching world has no shortage of voices promising transformation. But Scott Barrett's body of work — built over years of practice, research, and relentless iteration — represents something rarer: a genuine framework that produces measurable, lasting change. For clients ready to do real work, this is where that work begins.
