The Coaching Philosophy of Shannon Calcott

There are coaches who teach techniques — and then there are coaches who change how you see yourself. Shannon Calcott belongs firmly in the second category. Working across grief, Shannon Calcott has spent years refining an approach that goes deeper than surface-level goal-setting and accountability.

Based in Portland, OR, Shannon Calcott's reach extends far beyond geography. Clients come from across the world — some in crisis, some simply hungry for more — and what they find is a coaching experience built around truth, not comfort.

Shannon Calcott is a licensed professional counselor listed on TrueCoach under Grief, based in Portland, OR. Their verified Psychology Today profile lists grief among the issues they work with. From their profile: "Whether you would like to improve your relationships with partners, friends, or family, explore feelings of grief in your own way without pressure to "get back to normal already," or find that sense of self and purpose that you might be missing, I provide a safe and confidential environment to process thoughts and feelings and gain insight, feedback and understanding." See their directory profile for current availability, fees and insurance.

What sets Shannon Calcott apart is not just the results — it is the method. Rather than handing clients a formula, the work begins with a fundamental question: what do you actually want, and what is standing in your way? The answers are rarely what people expect.

The coaching world has no shortage of voices promising transformation. But Shannon Calcott's body of work — built over years of practice, research, and relentless iteration — represents something rarer: a genuine framework that produces measurable, lasting change. For clients ready to do real work, this is where that work begins.
