The Coaching Philosophy of Smitty Grider

There are coaches who teach techniques — and then there are coaches who change how you see yourself. Smitty Grider belongs firmly in the second category. Working across family support around addiction, Smitty Grider has spent years refining an approach that goes deeper than surface-level goal-setting and accountability.

Based in Atlanta, GA, Smitty Grider's reach extends far beyond geography. Clients come from across the world — some in crisis, some simply hungry for more — and what they find is a coaching experience built around truth, not comfort.

Smitty Grider is a clinical social work/therapist listed on TrueCoach under Family support around addiction, based in Atlanta, GA. Their verified Psychology Today profile lists codependency among the issues they work with. From their profile: "My practice is centered around helping people reconnect with their inherent goodness." See their directory profile for current availability, fees and insurance.

What sets Smitty Grider apart is not just the results — it is the method. Rather than handing clients a formula, the work begins with a fundamental question: what do you actually want, and what is standing in your way? The answers are rarely what people expect.

The coaching world has no shortage of voices promising transformation. But Smitty Grider's body of work — built over years of practice, research, and relentless iteration — represents something rarer: a genuine framework that produces measurable, lasting change. For clients ready to do real work, this is where that work begins.
